Campaign Story

Well, hello there! My name is Amanda and I’m pleased to make your acquaintance! If you don’t mind, I would like to take a moment to tell you a little about my husband and I.

My husband, Michael and I, met many moons ago… 14 years to be exact. We knew shortly after meeting that there was something special between us, so we decided to explore the opportunities together through dating. We had so much fun together! We traveled, went to concerts, spent many of our nights walking together in stores just to smell some yummy candles (who doesn’t love a good warm vanilla scented candle???), and hung out at the local baseball field; soaking up some sun and enjoying a hot dog (or 2… hehehe) while watching the game.

We decided that we had had enough of the “see where this is going” and “we’re not getting any younger” feelings, finally taking the plunge and joining lives forever. We were wed in holy matrimony in 2019. Yes, for those math geniuses out there, we did date for 10 years before getting married. Marriage is a covenant between you, your spouse, and God. We didn’t want to take the biggest leap of our lives to date (getting married) without being completely sure that’s what we both wanted and where God was leading us. That’s what took so long to get to the “I do’s”, and guess what? Even after the mess of a pandemic and being forced to be together from sun up to sun down everyday, driving each other crazy and the little spats we get in because we just need a minute where the other person isn’t there (although there’s nowhere to go because where do you go in the middle of a pandemic)…. WE STILL DO!

After being married for 3.5 years, we noticed something was missing in our lives…. the joy of being parents. After 2 years of trying to have a baby, we sought help from medical providers, only to find out we struggle with infertility. The professionals recommend IVF, which isn’t covered by insurance, leaving us saddened to know that the hefty price tag of IVF to accomplish our dreams of having a family, will keep us from experiencing that pure joy that can only come from a precious child.

We have taken on multiple jobs each and tried to save every penny that we can to be able to afford the best option for our success, but things are moving at tortoise speed. The saying “slow and steady wins the race” is very true in most instances, but in the realm of fertility, you’re racing against a ticking bomb. One day, it will be too late. I hate asking for help, but I would greatly appreciate if you could donate anything you’re comfortable with and share this fundraising page with friends and family to help us achieve our dreams of becoming parents.
